Creole Chili Con Carne ![]() 2 tablespoons Salad oil 1/2 cup Onions -- minced 1/4 cup Celery -- diced 1/2 cup Green bell pepper -- chopped 3/4 pound Ground beef -- lean 1 tablespoon Flour -- all-purpose 1 can Red beans w/chili gravy(16oz) or you can cook your own red beans, Camille's is a good brand to use 1 cup Water 1/2 teaspoon Salt 1/4 teaspoon Hot pepper sauce 1 teaspoon Steak sauce Crackers Rice -- cooked 1. Heat oil in large skillet; saute onion, celery and bell pepper until golden. 2. Stir in beef; saute until red color disapppears. 3. Stir in flour; add red beans, water, salt, pepper sauce and steak sauce. 4. Simmer, stirring often, until desired thickness. 5. Serve with crackers or cornbread, which is what I prefer, or rice. |
